This is a unique opportunity to attend a course at the renowned Richemont Bakery School conducted in English.


The Worshipful Company of Bakers, and the Association of Bakery Ingredient Manufacturers offer these Awards for training opportunities to trainees and experienced crafts people within the baking industry.

The Joseph Travelling Award is for one mature successful applicant to further his or her knowledge abroad to the benefit of the UK Baking Industry.

The Piero Scacco Award is provided by Piero Scacco and is for two people in the Baking Industry to further their knowledge on a European course.

The ABIM Award is provided by the ABIM and is for one person.

Recipients of all three Awards will depart for Lucerne, Switzerland on Friday 3rd October and return on Tuesday 7th October 2014. The expenses paid trip will include a two day course in English at the world renowned Richemont Bakery School, Lucerne, Switzerland. The course will include a one day Confectionery Course, one day Speciality Bakery Breads Course and a walking tour of Bakeries, Patisseries & Caf├ęs.

Closing date for completed applications is 8th May 2014.  Interviews will be on 15th May 2014 at Bakers Hall, London.

The remaining places on the Course will be offered to anyone interested, on a paying basis. 

The Worshipful Company of Bakers, the Craft Bakers Association and Fermex Lesaffre Course 2014


The Worshipful Company of Bakers, Craft Bakers Association and Fermex International are pleased to offer the opportunity for students and Trainees to attend the renowned Lesaffre Baking Centre in Lille, France for a Short course on the practical and technical aspects of Sourdough Production and application on Monday 23rd June to Wednesday 25th June 2014 .

All Students applying for an Award must have relevant Bakery experience.
