A visit to the National Bakery School - 30th April 2018

Accompanied by my wife, Mistress Baker (Miriam), I visited the National Bakery School at London South Bank University to learn about the courses, the work done there and also to meet some of the students and staff. We were the guests of Elaine Thomson, the Course Director and Senior Lecturer. She was generous with her time and patient in answering all our questions.
We saw and heard about product development. This included healthy snacks as well as gluten free products. Avocado and cucumber were among the unexpected ingredients. There is clearly impressive and innovative work going on. We also saw evidence of the many awards gained by the students and look forward to seeing some of them at Alton Towers at the ABST weekend in June.
Miriam and I were delighted to receive a chocolate wheatsheaf as a pleasant memento of our visit.
