Note To Teachers

At the Worshipful Company of Bakers we are keen to encourage healthy eating. Man's staple diet from the beginning of time has been bread, and remains so today. Every family needs its daily bread.

Also, we want to encourage young people to see the real value of the baking industry as a career. There are excellent training courses for young people at over 40 top colleges throughout the UK, like the National Bakery School in London, and Thomas Danby College in Leeds.

We hope you find the bakery quiz a helpful learning aid for your pupils. It is aimed at 10-year-olds upwards. All the Bakery Section answers are to be found somewhere on the Worshipful Company of Bakers' website, and there are some general knowledge ones too.

The quiz should help schoolchildren learn about baking and history - and using a mouse to navigate a website.

Answers will be automatically marked on-line and a certificate will be e-mailed to participating pupils achieving what is deemed to be a good score total for their age. Now that's technology!
