Livery Society visit to the Guildhall’s archives 1569 and All That…..
On June 5 at Guildhall, London, the fascinating heritage of the Bakers Company was revealed by Howard Doble of London Metropolitan Archives, who took Livery Society members and guests right back to 1155 when the City's bakers first appeared in a pipe roll.

Guild of Young Freemen’s Garden Party
It was a fine summer’s day in London as the Guild of Young Freemen gathered for their Garden Party in the green courtyard of St. Michael’s Church, Cornhill. This event, which has been held annually for the past 5 years, is an opportunity for the members to meet together with their families in an informal setting to enjoy each other’s company and a competition for the best cake.

Beating the Bounds
All Hallows By The Tower beat the bounds of their parish every year on Ascension Day, and this year's ceremony took place on Thursday 30 May. The Master, Clerk, Liveryman Alderman Nicholas Lyons, other Livery Company representatives and various distinguished dignitaries were present and joined the Beating Party on the day.

Livery Society AGM - Guest speaker Commissioner Ian Dyson – head of the City of London Police
Mr Dyson detailed why the City of London Police is independent of the Met; basically, when Robert Peel tried to create the Police in 1828, the Bill wasn’t passed, as the City didn’t want to be part of it – as it had its own Beadles, Night watchmen etc…. – so, the Met was established a year later, and, eventually 10 Years after that, in 1839, the City of London Police was established.

On 20th March 2019 Liverymen, with their partners and guests, dined in Bakers Hall to celebrate the 333rd anniversary of the signing of the Worshipful Company of Bakers fourth, and current, Royal Charter.
