Raising funds for the Sheriffs' and Recorder's Fund (See photo gallery below)

In his spare time Past Master Alan Willis is the Officer Commanding of the Light Cavalry, one of the ceremonial sub-units of the Honourable Artillery Company. In that role he organised and led the Sheriff's Ride around the City on 15 September, raising funds for the Sheriffs' and Recorder's Fund. Founded in 1808, the Fund gives small grants to ex-prisoners and their families in London, to help them stop offending and start a new life.

He escorted Alderman & Sheriff Professor Michael Mainell, and they were accompanied by six further Light Cavalrymen and two City of London Mounted Police Officers. Starting from the Old Bailey, they visited the Mansion House and 17 Livery Halls, before returning to the Old Bailey.

Almost £13,000 has been raised so far and further donations can
