The sheep drive across London Bridge
Sunday 30th September was a dry, mild and cloudy day - ideal weather for exercising the right to drive sheep across London Bridge. With many others, including other Masters, the Master and Mistress Baker took part in this year’s event. The sheep which they drove by and large behaved well, although one or two seemed to want to show signs of independence and turn round. But they were gently persuaded to keep going forwards!
The drive raises money for the Lord Mayor’s Appeal and also the educational projects of the the Worshipful Company of Woolmen and so it is not just fun to take part but also a worthwhile way of helping the Livery Movement, through another Company in its charitable and educational outreach.
